No vaccine crisis in the country - Health minister

Zahid Maleque, Health and Family Welfare Minister, said Sunday that there is no vaccine shortage in the country. 5,400,000 doses of vaccine have already arrived this month and 15,000,000 more are expected by the end.

As the chief guest at Sunday's Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka, the health minister made this comment while addressing an orientation program for newly recruited junior consultants (Anaesthesiologists).

He stated that the appointment of 409 anaesthesiologists in the 6th grade was a huge step during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said that the health sector was grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who appointed such a large number doctors in such a short time.

Minister urged newly appointed doctors to forget their fears and go into remote areas. He promised to provide all necessary facilities for newly-recruited doctors and asked that they serve the people.

The event was attended by officials from the ministry, members and doctors of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), as well as other political leaders.
